Quests are the Early Access progression layer for advanced characters, Facility access and card-pool growth. If a major route or character is missing, check your quest/unlock progress first. Do not rely on old demo completion screens: they could reveal content while still blocking it from play.
Version note: This page is written for the September 10, 2026 Early Access launch. Shroom and Gloom is actively changing, so treat older demo videos as historical unless the same behavior appears in launch footage or official notes.
What quests unlock
The official launch announcement says the quest system is used to unlock new content, advanced characters and access to the Facility, while also expanding card pools. That makes quests the first place to look when a guide tells you something “should be available.”
Why old videos are misleading here
Demo footage can show a successful run revealing Lunch Lady or the Facility, then immediately label that content as locked in the demo. Those videos are useful for history, not current availability.
At launch, the developers list all five characters as playable content and specifically say the Facility can be discovered.
Safe progression workflow
- Finish the current run as far as you can.
- Read the post-run unlock/quest results instead of skipping the screen.
- Check newly available character/path options.
- When a quest adds a route or card pool, build the next run around discovering that content rather than repeating the same old path by habit.
Exact chains may change
Launch videos suggest specific character-to-character progression chains, but this page does not present those as official universal requirements until they are cross-checked cleanly. Early Access progression is exactly the kind of surface that may be tuned.
Use Characters for the official launch roster and Facility for the new route.
